we are the rivers we swim through is a performance-lecture commissioned for Desire Lines 2005. It draws together multiple forms of research and performance to address the disappearance of species and the collapse of the planet's ecological infrastructure. At the heart of the piece is a desire to find connections between the whirling data and the delicacy of human decisions. In acknowledging the depth and complexities of this research area, we seek to create a space in which the silent and invisible collapse around us can be heard, its far-reaching implications better understood.
